The RAK14008 is a gesture recognition module from the RAKWireless WisBlock Sensor series, built on the PixArt Imaging PAJ7620U2 chipset. Designed for gesture control via I²C interface, it can recognize up to 9 distinct hand gestures:

  • Move up

  • Move down

  • Move left

  • Move right

  • Move forward

  • Move backward

  • Circle clockwise

  • Circle counterclockwise

  • Wave

In addition to gesture detection, the module features built-in proximity sensing to detect approaching or departing objects. With an onboard low-noise, high PSRR voltage regulator, ambient light immunity, and noise cancellation, the RAK14008 provides reliable performance even in variable lighting conditions.

Its flexible power-saving scheme makes it particularly well-suited for battery-powered smart devices and IoT applications, such as:
