The RAK12014 is a Time-of-Flight (ToF) distance sensor module from the RAKWireless WisBlock Sensor series, based on the VL53L0X chipset from STMicroelectronics.
It uses a 940 nm VCSEL emitter (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser), invisible to the human eye, along with integrated infrared filters. This enables distance measurement of up to 2 meters, offering strong resistance to ambient light and enhanced robustness against cover glass crosstalk.
With its compact size (10 x 10 mm), I²C interface, and Xshutdown and Interrupt GPIOs, the RAK12014 is an excellent choice for:
