Detailed Description

The RAK11720 stamp module combines the Ambiq Apollo3 (AMA3B1KK-KBR-B0) microcontroller with the Semtech SX1262 LoRa® transceiver, providing a powerful dual-RF solution supporting LoRaWAN® and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0.

The module is available in two variants:

With MHF-4 connectors for LoRa and BLE

Without MHF connector, allowing you to connect your own antennas to the RF pins

Important Notes:

The included antenna is intended for certification support.

When using a Blade Antenna, it must be used with an MHF to RP-SMA/SMA adapter (for MHF-4 variant only).

The hardware of the modules supports multiple LoRaWAN® regions globally. The only difference between variants lies in the label, which indicates regional certification.

In the “With MHF” variant, the internal RF path to the RF pad is disconnected; in the “No MHF” variant, it remains connected to the RF pad.

With its dual-RF capabilities (LoRa® + BLE), the RAK11720 is suitable for a wide range of IoT applications such as home automation, sensor networks, building automation, and IoT connectivity solutions.

The RAK11720 is pin-compatible with the RAK3172, allowing you to design one PCB that can support LoRaWAN® only or LoRaWAN® + BLE simply by switching the module in your BOM from RAK3172 to RAK11720.

The module ships with RUI3-based AT command firmware, fully compatible with RAK3172 and RAK4631-R. You can also develop your own custom firmware using the RUI3 API.
