The RAK13005 LIN Module is a Local Interconnect Network (LIN) transceiver module that can be mounted in the IO slot of a WisBlock Base Board. It uses the Infineon TLE7259-3 LIN chip, designed for data transmission rates from 2.4 kBaud to 20 kBaud.
The LIN bus architecture consists of Controller Nodes (Master), which manage communication, and Peripheral Nodes (Slave), which receive and act on instructions. The RAK13005 supports both Master and Slave functionality, making it highly versatile for different use cases.
Beyond automotive networks, the RAK13005 can also be used in home appliances such as washing machines and refrigerators, as well as in industrial automation systems like manufacturing and metalworking equipment.
The module is compliant with ISO 17987-4 and LIN Specification 2.2A, and it provides very low current consumption in sleep mode with wake-up functions. It supports both 12 V and 24 V LIN bus power supplies, and its digital I/O levels are compatible with 3.3 V and 5 V microcontrollers.
