Flash Module GigaDevice GD25Q16 – RAK15001

The RAK15001 Flash Module adds a 16 Mbit (2 MByte) NOR flash memory to WisBlock solutions. Built with the GigaDevice GD25Q16CNIG chip, it uses a standard SPI interface (SCLK, CS#, SI, SO, WP#, HOLD#) for reliable communication.

Thanks to its large storage capacity, the module is well-suited for storing static data that needs to be frequently accessed, such as lookup tables, conversion tables, images, or audio files.

Compared to EEPROM memory, the RAK15001 offers fewer write/erase cycles, which means it is not ideal for constantly changing data like continuous sensor readings.

The module operates within a 2.7 V to 3.6 V voltage range, has a very low standby current (<5 µA), and is designed for temperatures ranging from -40 °C to +85 °C. Its compact size of 10 × 10 mm makes it ideal for integration into space-constrained IoT designs.
