Product Description Technical Details

The RAK5814 Encryption Module brings high-level security to WisBlock solutions. Built around the Microchip ATECC608A cryptographic co-processor, it provides hardware-based protection for up to 16 keys, certificates, or data entries.

It supports the Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) protocol in compliance with FIPS SP800-56A for secure key agreement and the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) for signature verification and authentication. This makes it highly suitable for applications requiring strong encryption, secure communication, and protection against hardware-level attacks.

Additional supported features include AES-128 encryption, SHA-256 & HMAC hashing, TLS 1.2 and 1.3 key calculations (PRF/HKDF), and an internal FIPS-compliant Random Number Generator (RNG). The module also offers two monotonic counters and a guaranteed unique 72-bit serial number for enhanced security.

With its ultra-low sleep current of <150 nA, compact 10 × 10 mm form factor, and I²C interface, the RAK5814 is perfectly suited for battery-powered IoT devices that demand robust security.
