The RAK1904, part of the WisBlock Sensor Series, adds three-dimensional acceleration sensing to the WisBlock system. Powered by the LIS3DH sensor from STMicroelectronics, it enables the development of motion tracking and vibration monitoring systems.
It supports user-selectable measurement ranges from ±2g to ±16g and data acquisition rates from 1 Hz up to 5.3 kHz, allowing it to be customized for various applications. The sensor also features an internal buffer with 32 levels of 16-bit data, ensuring reliable high-frequency measurements.
When paired with the RAK4631 WisBlock Core, the data can be transmitted via LoRaWAN®, LoRa® point-to-point, or BLE. Use cases include motion tracking, monitoring vibrations in rotating machinery, and even geophysical monitoring of active volcanoes.
With its ultra-low power consumption (0.5 µA to 11 µA), the RAK1904 is perfect for battery-powered IoT devices. Additionally, the WisBlock system allows complete power-down of the module to extend battery life even further.
