Rain Sensor Microchip MCP606 – RAK12005 + RAK12030

The RAK12005, part of the WisBlock Sensor Series, is a rain and fog detection module that identifies the presence of water and other electroconductive liquids. Its operating principle is based on measuring resistance changes caused by rainwater or condensed fog on the sensor surface.

The module uses the Microchip MCP606 CMOS operational amplifier, which outputs a positive signal when the detection area becomes wet, indicating liquid presence. Powered by a 3.3 V supply with a disconnect option for energy saving, the sensor provides reliable and efficient performance.

The included RAK12030 separate sensor PCB connects via cable to the RAK12005, allowing flexible outdoor placement of the sensor while keeping the WisBlock solution safe in a dry location or waterproof enclosure.

With a configurable detection threshold via trimmer, digital output, and compact design, the RAK12005 + RAK12030 is perfect for IoT applications such as weather stations, smart agriculture, and environmental monitoring systems.
