The RAK12013 is a 3.2 GHz microwave radar motion sensor from the RAKWireless WisBlock Sensor series, built on the RCWL-9196 chipset. Using the Doppler radar effect, it detects moving objects by transmitting and receiving radar signals and analyzing the difference between them.

It offers a detection range of 5–7 meters and a 360° coverage area with no blind spots, making it highly effective for a variety of applications, such as:

  • Security systems for intruder detection

  • Lighting automation (motion-activated lights)

  • Smart home and smart office solutions

Note:

  • The component side of the module (front) is the positive sensing face, while the back side is less sensitive.

  • Radar signals do not interfere with other communication technologies like LoRa, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth. However, multiple radar sensors may interfere with each other if placed closer than 1 meter apart.
