The RAK12047 is a state-of-the-art VOC sensor from the RAKWireless WisBlock Sensor series, powered by the MOx-based Sensirion SGP40. It detects a wide range of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and provides digital measurements via the I²C interface.
The sensor’s raw signal can be directly processed by the Sensirion Gas Index Algorithm, which translates it into a VOC Index (1–500 points). Sensirion’s open-source libraries support this feature, making integration simple and efficient.
For enhanced accuracy, the RAK12047 can be combined with temperature and humidity sensors like the RAK1901 or RAK1906, providing additional data to optimize air quality assessments.
Typical Applications:
Indoor air quality monitoring
Air purifiers
Demand-controlled ventilation (DCV) systems
Smart home and building automation
IoT-based indoor solutions
