Product Description Technical Details

The RAK16002 is a Coulomb sensor module from the RAKWireless WisBlock series, built on the Analog Devices LTC2941. It is designed to accurately monitor the charge status of single-cell Li-Ion batteries.

A built-in precision Coulomb counter integrates current through an internal sense resistor located between the battery’s positive terminal and the load or charger. The accumulated charge is stored in internal registers and can be accessed and configured via the I²C interface.

The module features programmable high and low thresholds for accumulated charge. When a threshold is exceeded, the device sets a flag in the internal status register and can issue an alert output.

With a quiescent current of less than 100 µA, the RAK16002 is optimized for low-power, battery-operated IoT devices, including:

  • Low-power IoT systems

  • Indoor environmental sensors

  • Air quality sensors

  • Soil moisture sensors

  • GNSS location trackers
