Milesight WS301-868M – Magnetic Door / Window Contact Sensor with LoRaWAN® and Tamper Protection

The Milesight WS301-868M is a LoRaWAN®-based magnetic contact sensor designed to detect the opening or closing of doors, windows, cabinets, or similar objects. The device consists of two parts — a magnet attached to the movable section and a sensor mounted on the fixed frame. When the magnetic connection is broken, the sensor immediately detects the change and transmits an alert over the LoRaWAN® network.

With a detection distance of 10–15 mm, the WS301 provides reliable and accurate open/close monitoring. It also includes tamper detection to trigger alerts if the sensor is removed or interfered with. A built-in LED indicator provides visual feedback for device status, alarms, and low battery levels.

Using Milesight D2D (Device-to-Device) communication, the WS301 can directly control or interact with other D2D devices — even without a gateway — ensuring ultra-low latency responses. The device is easy to configure via NFC and the Milesight mobile app and is powered by a 1200 mAh Li-SOCl₂ battery that provides up to 6.8 years of operation depending on usage and network settings.

The compact and minimalist design allows for quick installation using 3M adhesive or screws on nearly any flat surface. The WS301 is fully compatible with Milesight IoT Cloud, the Milesight Development Platform, and all standard LoRaWAN® gateways, making it perfect for smart home security, office monitoring, and industrial automation.
